vpnYou could say I am rather paranoid about my online searches being observed and pinpointed as mine. It’s not that I do anything illegal or extremely embarrassing, but I am a conspiracy theorist that believes that things I look up and my research can be misconstrued into something it isn’t.

I don’t like the fact that I can be observed as I like my online privacy, just as I enjoy privacy in my real life. I often search for articles on controversial topics that may cause some bells to go off for whoever is watching my online use, when in reality I just like to be aware about what is going on in the world as we know it.

Recently a friend of mine who is somewhat into conspiracy theories like I am was brought into questioning due to his online searches. Like me, he is a lawyer and a good standing citizen, but his searches gave cause for questions. I would rather avoid having to deal with that, because what I search is only something I read and ponder, not something I act upon.

I decided it was time to get a VPN to avoid my IP address being a target of someone’s suspicion and I am happy that now I can read about topics that seem interesting to me, without being fearful that I am cause for suspicion.

Since getting a new VPN that says my location is in the UK, I feel ten times more at ease while doing what I enjoy; research of controversial topics. I can now sit back at home while on my computer, instead of wondering if I will be questioned for something harmless.

Getting a VPN has freed me to keep pursuing the topics and articles that make my mind work and I am still learning more and more about the world as we know it.
